Do I Need a Doctor's Note for Peptides on a Plane?
Doctor's note for peptide travel: when it's required, when it helps, and a free template. Research-grade peptide rules explained.
When a Doctor's Note Is Legally Required
Japan (Yunyu Kakunin-sho process), UAE (MOHAP approval), Australia (TGA personal importation), and Singapore (HSA declaration) all legally require medical documentation for pharmaceutical imports.
When It Helps But Isn't Required
In the USA, UK, and most EU countries, a physician letter is not legally required for unscheduled peptides. However, it dramatically reduces friction at customs and prevents confiscation of ambiguous compounds.
When It Makes No Difference
Thailand, Canada, and Mexico have relaxed import rules for personal-use quantities. A doctor's note adds no practical advantage, though carrying one is never harmful.
What Customs Officers Actually Ask
"What are these?" and "Do you have a prescription?" are the two most common questions. A calm, prepared answer with documentation ready ends 95% of customs interactions in under 60 seconds.
Digital vs Paper Copies
Always carry both. Lead with a printed letter — customs officers in most countries prefer physical documents. Have a digital backup on your phone in case the paper is lost or damaged.
