How to Keep Peptides Cold on a 12-Hour Flight

12-hour flight with peptides? Pre-cooling protocol, ice sandwich packing method, and what to do when you land.

24-Hour Pre-Cool Method

Place your cooler in the refrigerator 24 hours before packing. A pre-cooled case starts at 2-4°C instead of room temperature, extending cold retention by 3-5 hours.

The Ice Sandwich Technique

Layer: gel pack on bottom, vials wrapped in paper towel in the middle, gel pack on top. The "sandwich" provides even cooling from both sides and prevents direct contact with frozen packs (which can freeze and damage peptides).

How to Handle TSA With a Full Cooler

Open the cooler proactively for the TSA agent. Show the vials and ice packs clearly. Having everything organized reduces screening time to under 2 minutes.

Landing Protocol — First 30 Minutes Matter

After landing, get your peptides into a refrigerator within 30-60 minutes. If heading directly to a hotel, request a medical fridge during booking. If transit continues, replace gel packs at an airport pharmacy.

What to Do If Hotel Has No Fridge

Three backup methods: 1. Request ice from the front desk and pack vials in a bowl of ice. 2. Find a nearby pharmacy for fresh gel packs. 3. Store lyophilized vials at room temperature (stable for 2-4 weeks).
